A PENSIONER suffered a fractured elbow and bruising after falling down a flight of stairs in a tussle with a younger man who had struck him with a piece of wood, Southampton Crown Court heard.
Karl Hoffman, 28, admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm on 74-year-old Daniel O’Connell. In his basis of plea, he accepted pushing the pensioner but without intending the fall down the stairs. Hoffman, of Taranto Road, Southampton, was further remanded in custody pending sentence on March 5.
