Burglar spared jail sentence

Burglar spared jail sentence Burglar spared jail sentence

A £200-a-day drug abuser, who took part in a raid on a business centre, was spared a prison sentence.

Alexander Hand, 20, admitted five burglaries and one attempted burglary at the Solent Enterprise Cenre in Millbrook Road West, Southampton last July.

Prosecutor Nicholas Cotter told the city crown court that after police learnt the identity of an accomplice, they went to his home where they found Hand and a lot of the stolen property.

Leah Dillon, defending, outlined how Hand was now virtually clean after seeking help with his drug problem.

Recorder Anthony Davies QC sentenced Hand, of Belmont Road, Portswood, to 12 months supervision with an order to perform 200 hours unpaid community and pay £70 costs.

The judge was told another man was due to appear before the crown court in connection with the burglaries next week.

So breaking the law & taking illegal drugs & then breaking the law burgling a business & this is what he gets?
Did we ask him to get hooked on drugs?
the reason many of these are illegal is because they're addictive .
In life you make decisions & you have to live by them maybe a years term in a rehab clinic or a term he can't leave until he's cured would be better

I find it amazing the number of addicts that seek help and come clean after thay have been caught, and not before they commit a crime.
Would love to know the actual figure of those that actually went through with this and succeeded.

OMG,as in as many weeks,Crime does pay, maybe I need to give up my law abiding job & take a life of crime, it’s a Joke that as in many weeks a major crime has happened & all they get is Community Service, The Country has gone soft. This should have been a case of at least 12 months inside !

This man is obviously very talented. He should be offered a job working for our government. We could send him to the middle east where he could help us steal oil and cultivate heroin.

What does "virtually clean" mean? Is that a bit like "virtually law-abiding?"

Not English but European legal system.
Don't forget it was them who over ruled our courts to allow that scum to stay here & them who throw human rights at us as an excuse to let these people off.
So let's get the hell out of the EU & run our country & courts ourselves

Wonder if he would have been treated so leniently had it been the home of Anthony Davies Q.C., that he had turned over ?
