A WOMAN at the centre of a love triangle which ended with a man stabbing his own brother is pregnant, the Daily Echo can reveal.

Victoria Hendricks is expecting a child in May but her partner Kevin Traves will not be at the birth after he was jailed for five years for the attack when he caught the pair having sex.

He was handed the prison term yesterday at Southampton Crown Court after a jury took two hours to convict him of wounding with intent.

They had heard how Traves, 27, had found his elder brother David Ralph and Victoria half naked when he returned home after he had been told by his mum that the pair were cheating on him behind his back.

The pair, who were both drunk, began having sex behind the sofa in the lounge when Traves returned.

Blood on clothes Traves began attacking Mr Ralph punching him in the head and body. It was only when he saw the amount of blood on his clothes he realised he had been stabbed, Mr Ralph said in evidence.

On his way out of the door Traves shouted at him: “If you don’t die, I’ll come back.”

Mr Ralph spent three days in hospital with a collapsed lung.

During the trial Traves claimed that he hadn’t realised he had picked up the knife during the struggle with his brother, but the jury did not believe him.

The court heard how Traves and Victoria, who already have two children together, had reconciled and were expecting their third child in May.

Victoria, 23, told the Daily Echo the couple were standing by each other. She said: “We have been together nine years, we are strong. Kevin saw the state I was in that night. He doesn’t blame me at all for what happened.”

Speaking of the new baby, with whom she fell pregnant when Traves was released on bail in September, she said: “I am expecting a little boy and although it will be difficult without Kevin here I am determined to be the best mum I can be until he comes out and we can have the big family we always wanted.”

In sentencing Traves, Judge Patrick Hooton said: “Anybody who finds out their girlfriend is having sexual relations with his brother is bound to feel extremely aggrieved but you decided to teach him a lesson.

“You are very lucky that you do not stand before me on a murder charge.”
