A MAN needed surgery after his arm was broken during an attack.
The 23-year-old had been out with friends and was walking home in the city centre when he was approached by a man who spoke to him before assaulting him.
The incident happened in the area of London Road and Above Bar Street, Southampton, between 2am and 3am on Sunday, April 29.
The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance and will now have a metal plate fitted in his arm.
The attacker is described as white, around 5ft 7ins with dark stubble. He was wearing a dark coloured beanie hat, a short hikers-style jacket and dark tracksuit bottoms.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable Simon Bembridge at Shirley Police Station on 101.
