JURORS in the trial of a former police officer accused of attacking his pregnant partner were due to retire this morning to consider their verdict.
Matthew Cherry, 35, of Wimpson Lane, Millbrook , Southampton , is accused of attacking fellow officer Caroline Craft when she was six months pregnant with their child, kicking her in the stomach in a bid to harm the unborn baby.
Winchester Crown Court has heard that the attack happened at a flat in Bournemouth.
Cherry denies attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
