A MAN suffered facial injuries after an assault in Southampton .

The 52-year-old needed hospital treatment following the attack, on Thursday night.

The victim told police he had been assaulted by another man who demanded money from him, near the Champagne Charlie’s off licence, in Portswood Road, at around 7.40pm.

A 43-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of assault and attempted robbery.
