RESIDENTS in a Southampton community have set up eight Neighbourhood Watch schemes.
The schemes have been set up in Freemantle to help prevent antisocial behaviour and juvenile nuisance, which have been causing problems for residents.
Neighbourhood Watch schemes aim to help people protect themselves by means of improved home security, greater vigilance, and accurate reporting of suspicious incidents to the police.

The massive influx of volunteers was seen after the local Safer Neighbourhoods team held three public meetings outlining how residents could make a real difference.
The scheme is run by residents and supported by police and the city council. If you would like to join or set up a scheme in your area, call your local Crime Prevention Officer on 0845 045 4545.
