The M3 junction with the M27
A MOTORIST had a lucky escape after a rock was thrown from a motorway bridge and hit his car.
Miraculously the rock hit the sunroof of the Renault Megane causing damage but no injury to the 27-year-old driver from Bournemouth.
Police are investigating the incident that happened as the motorist drove along the M3 motorway under the A27 bridge at Chilworth.
Officers are warning people not to throw items off bridges. A police spokesman said: “It is highly dangerous and it could cause a serious accident. Anyone who does it will also find themselves having to face the consequences of their actions.”
Police are also appealing for any information about the incident that happened around 8pm on January 4 to help them identify those responsible.
They are asked to contact PC Mike Duke at Eastleigh Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

As authorities make enough money out of motorists, the should either install cameras to check who is on the bridge, or erect high, small-mesh fencing along them.

This is not the first time that I have read of objects being thrown from bridges over motorways.
