JEWELLERY was among items taken after burglars smashed their way into a home.

Thieves entered the property, in Kingsway, Chandler’s Ford, through the back door.

It is thought they had come from woodland behind the house, where a 57-year-old man lives, and may have knocked down the fence to get into the garden.

The burglars took jewellery and expensive electrical items in the incident, which happened sometime between 4pm and 9pm on Saturday.
