RESIDENTS of a Hampshire community will have to wait to find out whether hundreds of new homes will be built.
Plans for the 335 home development on grassland near to Bubb Lane in West End went before councillors at a meeting last night.
Developer Gladman Developments Ltd also wants to create new public open space, a children’s play area and potentially a doctor’s surgery on the land to the north of Hedge End.
Although the plans are recommended for approval by borough council officers, residents and councillors fear it will have a big impact on roads and lead to further housing developments.
But members of the Hedge End, West End and Botley Local Area Committee last night voted to defer making a decision until a future meeting.
They deferred it after a planning inspector raised concerns over the number of proposed new homes in the borough.
