POLICE have sealed off part off a Hampshire main road after a car smashed into a telegraph pole.

The A3051 Botley Road in Curbridge is closed in both directions after the vehicle collided with the structure shortly after 4pm.

The woman driver is believed to have been unharmed in the collision near the Horse and Jockey Pub.

Another car and a lorry are also believed to have been involved in the crash which caused the wires to snap and dangle towards the ground.

Police have sealed off the road while maintenance teams try and fix the pole and make the area safe.

The closure is causing major delays in the Botley area with people forced to turn around at the blockage.
