STAFF at a Hampshire farm got a very festive surprise with the birth of these little piglets.

Proud mum Gloria gave birth to four piglets at Manor Farm in Bursledon, much to the shock of staff who were unaware she was expecting.

Daily Echo:

Manor Farm’s Debbie Underwood, farm stock ranger, who is in charge of the animals, came in on Christmas Day to find the new arrivals.

The two boys and two girls, are all doing well and are expected to be sold.

Although Debbie had suspected the one-year-old ‘Gloucester old spot’ might be expecting, the pregnancy did not show as much as in other pigs.

First-time father is one-year-old British saddleback Arthur.

“It was a surprise and it was lovely to walk in Christmas morning and see this first time mum and these beautiful babies.

“They were stood around mum pretty as a picture,” said Debbie “I just thought it was lovely – it was a real ‘aw’ moment, it makes your heart melt.”

Two other pregnant pigs are expected to give birth to litters in the next week.
