HOMES have been given the go-ahead in place of a barn that is set to be demolished.

Eastleigh planning bosses gave permission for a proposal by Burton Property Venture Ltd to construct four two storey five-bedroom detached houses with garages.

One house will be accessed by an existing field access from Heath House Close and the others from a new access onto Heath House Lane.

The land is currently classified as countryside and has been used in the past to graze horses but is at present overgrown with nettles.

The decision was delegated to officers at Eastleigh Borough Council.
