MOTORISTS face rush hour delays after a five-car pile-up on a Hampshire motorway.

Three cars were in the central reservation on the M27 eastbound between junctions 5 at Swaythling and 7 at Hedge End.

Two more were on the hard shoulder as emergency services cleared the scene.

Traffic is currently tailed back several miles to junction 5 and is flowing slowly.

All lanes have been reopened.

Witnesses have reported a child's seat being removed from one of the vehicles.

South Central Ambulance Service confirmed two patients have been taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital but said there were no details yet on the extent of their injuries.
