FIREFIGHTERS were called to a Hampshire motorway late at night after the axle of a kerosene tanker caught fire.
A crew from Eastleigh fire station attended the scene on the M3 southbound between junctions 11 and 12 at about 1am yesterday A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said the driver pulled to the hard shoulder and managed to extinguish before the crew cooled the axle with water.
No one was injured.
