YOUNGSTERS from across the county have once again gone head to head in the ultimate dancing challenge.

Rock Challenge has hit the stage again in a bid to find Hampshire’s dancing kings and queens.

And this week’s champions include students from Barton Peverill College who scooped first prize in one heat with their performance, A World Beyond the Page.

But they were not the only ones to come out on top – Lee-on-the-Solent Junior School scooped first place in a junior round for their dance Respect for Freedom and Portchester’s Wicor Primary School took second place in the final heat.

Fareham College also made it onto the podium, scooping third place in with their performance, Inner Demons and Regrets, following a couple involved in a plane crash.

It is the ninth year since UK Rock Challenge was set up by Hampshire Constabulary with the aim of encouraging children to be creative and lead healthy lifestyles without tobacco, alcohol or drugs.

The two colleges will compete again in this summer’s finals.
