A FAMILY was left terrified after three armed robbers burst into their home in the middle of the night.

The gang, who had weapons with them including a metal bar and a wooden object that looked like a hammer, then demanded that they hand over their belongings.

However the family then called the police and the men left empty handed.

The incident happened sometime between 12.05am and 12.25am on Thursday, May 7, at a house on Sayer Road in Eastleigh.

Police have today released descriptions of the men, who are white and in their late teens to early 20s.

The first is about 6ft 1, slim, light brown hair and wearing a dark blue or grey charcoal hoody, a patterned knitted scarf, dark jogging bottoms and trainers.

The second is about 5ft 9ins and stocky build. He had bright blond or bleached blond hair and was wearing a royal blue hoody, light grey jogging bottoms, a blue scarf and trainers.

The third man is white and aged in his late teens to early 20s and around 5ft 4ins. He is slim and wearing a black hoody, grey jogging bottoms and trainers.

Detective Constable Lucy Nagra said: “I am appealing for any information that may help lead us to the people that targeted this family, leaving them terrified.

“Did you see anyone in the area around the time of the incident?  Do you know who may be responsible? I would urge anyone with information to come forward.”
