A MAN and woman have assaulted a woman as she walked home.

Eastleigh Police how the 27-year-old victim was walking back from a pub when she was punched from behind as walked the footpath along Grantham Road close to Grantham Green in Eastleigh.

One of the attackers tried to take her mobile phone and handbag but failed.

The victim was not injured in the incident, which happened on Sunday night between 11pm and 1am.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call Eastleigh Police on 101.
