Police cordon off Hampshire shop after cash machine raid
POLICE have taped off the front of a Hampshire shop after thieves attempted to break into a cash machine.
The Boyatt News shop in Shakespeare Road, Boyatt Wood and the machine outside have been cordoned off and officers are said to be at the scene.
Police said they are investigating the attempted break in to the cash machine and at this stage were unable to say if anything has been taken.
The shop was unaffected.
"We're investigating and reviewing CCTV and we're assessing whether anything has actually been taken," said a police spokesman.
The incident was reported to police in the early hours of this morning, at around 4.30am and is thought to have happened between 10pm and 4am.
