HAMPSHIRE schools and colleges wowed judges in the latest round of the 2015 Southern Rock Challenge Finals.

Five teams from the county competed against rivals from Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hertfordshire, Surrey and Dorset, with Portsmouth College coming out on top.

Southampton’s Chamberlayne College for the Arts and Woodlands Community College put on strong displays that earned them high praise while Toynbee School of Chandler’s Ford were inspired by children’s favourite Scooby Doo, with performers unmasking an evil villain at the end of their routine.

The competition, sponsored by Ansvar Insurance, was held at Portsmouth Guildhall.

Event manager Hannah Cook said: “You can really see how much the young people have benefitted from their involvement. Each and every student showed a hundred percent commitment and determination and should be hugely proud of their achievements tonight.”
