IT IS set to be the “mane” event in Hampshire next year and one radio station will be helping to ensure everyone knows about it.

Marwell’s Zany Zebras public art extravaganza will be hitting city streets, parks and now the radio waves next summer thanks to the support of Wave 105.

The station is the official radio partner for the ten-week trail, which promises to attract thousands to Southampton in July, 2016.

Life-sized zebra sculptures will be popping up across the city in the sequel to Marwell’s Go! Rhinos project – a huge hit in 2013.

Jon Brooks, commercial director, said: “With access to more than half a million listeners each month we have a great opportunity to raise the project’s awareness. We are proud to be the official radio partner of Marwell’s Zany Zebras and look forward to a hugely successful venture.”

The spectacular Grevy’s zebra sculptures, backed by the Daily Echo, will create an amazing trail across Southampton to raise awareness of the plight of these incredible creatures and give a welcome boost to the regions’ economy.

Kirstie Mathieson, project manager for Marwell’s Zany Zebras, added: “Marwell’s Zany Zebras will be the South’s MANE event next summer – it is great to have the support of Wave 105 to ensure that the whole region knows about the project and joins in the fun!”
