A DEVELOPER will be setting out its plans for possible development on the site of a Hampshire hospital.

Barratt Homes is holding a public exhibition on plans to build homes at the Moorgreen Hospital site in West End at the West End Parish Centre, in Chapel Road today from 1.30pm to 7.30pm.

As previously reported, Eastleigh Borough Council’s cabinet has agreed its vision for potential future development it would deem acceptable at the site as a guide to developers, which it hopes will avoid piecemeal development.

This would involve moving the current medical facilities to another part of the site called the Donkey Field clearing the way for up to 230 homes, but this has caused concern about what services will be offered there and the lack of car parking.

The council has said it expects a planning application imminently.

Barratt Homes said it has not submitted a planning application and was not willing to disclose its plans ahead of the exhibition.
