THE heroes of the Battle of Britain were remembered as Eastleigh hosted a Fanfare for the Few today.
The event at the Concorde Club coincided with the 75th anniversary of the battle, in which the outnumbered RAF withstood the onslaught of the German air force during the Second World War.
The club garden in Stoneham Lane was transported back to the early 1940s for the gala afternoon, which featured fashion and music from the era.
The centrepiece of the afternoon, which was organised by the Rotary Club Southampton West in aid of the organisation’s charities, was a performance of popular songs from the time by the Swing Unlimited Band with dancers and singers.
