ANOTHER great steam effort has raised £2,000 for a cancer charity.
The cash was raised for Wessex cancer Trust by the 2015 Bill Targett Memorial Steam Rally held Eastleigh in May.
The rally, held in memory of an Eastleigh steam enthusiast, has been running since the 1970s and has grown over the years.
This year’s event featured 18 steam engines and stationary engines, classic vehicles and arena displays at Highbridge Farm in Allbrook.
Show chairman John Pragnell presented the cheque to the Wessex Cancer Trust representatives Kim Lawford, Andrew Smart and his son William at the organising committee’s monthly meeting at the Queen’s head, Fishers Pond.
Planning has already started on next year’s show, which will be held on May 14-15.
