A MAN brandished a ratchet at a fellow motorist before following her down the road and throwing items at her car.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, was in her black Vauxhall Corsa at the junction of Woodside Avenue and Leigh Road in Eastleigh when the incident happened.

She was in her vehicle at the junction between 8.45am and 9am on July 11 when a man in another vehicle became verbally aggressive towards her while they sat at the traffic lights.

She said he brandished what she describes as a ratchet at her while he was sat in his car, before taking his seatbelt off as if he was about to get out of his car.

When the traffic lights turned green she drove off onto Passfield Avenue but he followed her, and as they drove down the road he threw items at her car.

She then stopped and called the police while the man drove off towards Chestnut Avenue.

Police are urging anyone with information to get in touch, with PC Andrew Dolan saying: “If you witnessed what happened or think you might know who this man is, please contact us as soon as possible.”

The man is described as white, in his 30s with fair hair, a blond beard and a moustache.

A woman was sat in his passenger seat and she is described as being in her late teens or 20s, with dark coloured medium length hair.

The man’s car was metallic blue and either a VW or an Audi.
