It's been a wet, wet week but that shouldn't stop you having fun in Hampshire this weekend.

Celebrate Talk like a Pirate Day (September 19) at the Southampton Boat Show where tall ship, the Earl of Pembroke would be the envy of any buccaneer.

In addition to the Earl of Pembroke, visitors can climb aboard multi-million pound luxury motor yachts, take to the water with the Show’s Get Afloat and Try-a-Boat experiences and speed across the Solent on a Suzuki RIB.

The Southampton Boat Show is on until Sunday.

  • Simon Weston, My Life My Story, Hanger Farm Arts centre, Totton, September 19.

Falkland's War Veteran, author and public speaker, Simon Weston OBE is taking to the stage for the firsttime ever to tell his no holds barred story.

Guiding him from that fateful day to current times is one of his closest friends David Fitzgerald, former Sky news anchor and BBC Broadcaster.

There will be highs and lows; questions that only David could ask with answers that only Simon could give.

A Children's War at Manor Farm, September 19&20

A chance to discover what life was like for children during the war.

Hands-on activities and a time-travellers trail to learn more about life on the Wartime farm.

  • RSPCA Big Walkies, Queen Elizabeth Country Park, September 20

Help raise money for RSPCA Solent Branch, The Stubbington Ark, by taking part in our sponsored dog walk in the beautiful South Downs, choose from either a 3k or 5k route.

Cost - £10 first registered dog, £5 for every additional dog after. There will also be a dog show, demos, stalls and entertainment for the whole family.

Trains take over Bursledon Brickworks, September 20

Hampshire Narrow Gauge Railway Society are in charge on Sunday. They will be getting out all their trains, steam and petrol driven, and will have more on display inside.
