DO YOU like cake and coffee? Or maybe just love helping charity?

The Macmillan 'World’s Biggest Coffee Morning' takes place tomorrow.

It is part of a global campaign by the charity and the aim is to help ensure that no one has to face cancer alone.

Last year, most than £25 million was raised from the events So, why not get involved?

Colten Care invite residents, relatives, friends and community contacts to their annual fundraiser, designed to help people cope with the impact of a cancer diagnosis.

In Winchester, St Catherines View dementia care home will be holding an event on Friday , with Abbotts Barton residential home hosting their fundraiser on Saturday . Both will start at 10.30am.

As well as a get-together and an abundance of coffee, there will be stalls featuring greeting cards, books and bring and buy items.

To get involved, head down to Stanmore Lane, Winchester, SO22 4BL on Friday and 40 Worthy Road, Abbotts Barton, Winchester, SO23 7HB on Saturday.

Nevertheless, if you live near the New Forest, don't fret, Colten Care have five events close to you as well!

On Friday Belmore Lodge in Lymington will be showcasing live harp music and cake sales at 11am and Linden House will be hosting country and western singer Danny Stone at 2pm.

These will be staged at Belmore Lodge, Milford Road, Lymington, SO41 8DJ, and Linden House, New Street, Lymington, SO41 9BP.

If you live nearer to Brockenhurst, Woodpeckers care home invites you along at 11am, to a bring and buy sale with the theme ‘around the world in 80 cakes'. Head along to Woodpeckers, Sway Road, Brockenhurst, SO42 7RX.

In New Milton, Kingfishers will be hosting a raffle with prizes to be won. Get to Kingfishers, The Meadows, New Milton, BH25 7FJ for a 3pm start.

If you cannot make any events on Friday, don't worry as Court Lodge in Lymington will be holding a cake quiz and other entertainment at 10.30am on Saturday September 26. This will be at the Court Lodge, Court Close, Lymington, SO41 8NQ.

Activities Manager at Colten Care, Karen Burdon, said: "Our residents and team members really enjoy welcoming friends and contacts to our homes while raising money for good causes.

"The coffee morning is a great way to bring people together and raise awareness of Macmillan’s work."

In the city, the kettles will also be on are the cakes shall be at the ready.

Pitman Training will be joining forces with a ‘Worklife for Mums’ drop in session to run the event from 8am until midday. A light breakfast will be provided and mums are invited to come and share a bite to eat, as well as to share some tips and advice on returning to work and progressing your career after having a baby.

Centre manager Martin Ladd and his team will also be on hand offering free CV and career advice, and a free skills analysis to help people establish their current skills level. He said: "Being able to learn new skills online through flexible and remote training is a great way for people to fit this into their busy lives.

"We’ve helped thousands of people progress over the years, whether it be in getting a job, getting a promotion, changing career, or going back to work after maternity and we look forward to meeting a whole host of new people we can support with these activities."
