A TEENAGER has been arrested after a 13-year-old was threatened with a knife and fled into a shop.
The youngster ran into the Co-op in Leigh Road, Eastleigh, after he was harassed by a group of older teenagers at around 3.45pm on Sunday.
Police said the teenage boy ran into Co-op after being threatened with being stabbed outside the store by an older teenager.
Staff in the shop intervened and were also threatened and a Stanley type knife was seen before the older teen left.
A 17-year-old was later arrested near the shop on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place.
A Southern Co-operative spokesman said: “The incident is currently being investigated by the police, so we’re unable to comment further at this time."
He added that 'fortunately no-one was hurt'., the security and safety of our customers and colleagues is paramount at all times.”
