THIS is the dramatic moment three brazen thieves broke into a Hampshire marine electronics business stealing £75,000 worth of goods.

The thieves were captured on video targetting Hudson Marine Electronics shop based at Mercury Yacht Harbour in Hamble.

CCTV footage shows the three thieves breaking down a side door that leads into the stock room.

Footage also shows the moments before the raid where the three men were seen pulling up next to the firm in a Ford van.

They then ransacked the business and stole marine electronics, further footage also shows them smashing glass cabinets as they stole goods inside the shop.

Hampshire Constabulary are investigating the raid which lasted four minutes and happened on June 29 between 7.08pm and 7.26pm.

Owner of the business David Lennard,49, from Hamble spoke of his shock, after the raid.

Mr Lennard told the Daily Echo: “It was a little bit of a shock.

“It’s just the audacity of it, that they did it at 7.15pm in broad daylight and there were people working opposite.”

“What’s frustrating about it is my cameras pick up motion through detectors which work at certain times, but they didn’t pick them up.”

He said it was the first time that the business has been targeted.

The shop was closed for four days so police could carry out forensics, and the business could clear up the mess caused.

Mr Lennard thanked the local community in Hamble, who have shared the footage on social media in a bid to catch the culprits.

Mr Lennard said:”I would like to say thank you the support is superb, the more that the video gets out the more chance these people are going to get caught.”

Since the raid, the business has taken additional security measures and Mr Lennard is glad the firm installed high quality CCTV before the incident, he added: “If we ad not had the cameras, to have come here to not know who or what had happened would have been horrible, we invested mone in HD cameras and sound and we hope they can help the police catch the people that did this.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: “Entry to the business was forced via a stockroom door, three men have been seen to enter the premises and steal items and place them in a large hippowaste type bag.”

No arrests have been made and police are looking for the men.
