A YOUNG woman has been attacked after leaving a Hampshire pub in the dead of night.

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault near The Station in Eastleigh at around 3am on Saturday.

The victim, in her early 20s, was attacked in a park on Leigh Road after she left the High Street pub, formerly known as the Litten Tree.

Detective Sergeant Paul Selby: said: "I am appealing for anyone with information that could help us, to come forward. Were you on your way home after a night out around the time of the attack? Did you see or hear anything that could be connected? I would urge anyone with information to come and speak to us and tell us what they know."
