THE craze for Pokemon Go has taken over the world - even Eastleigh.

Players have been racing around streets and parks to find virtual creatures, with thousands taking part in Hampshire.

Gamer Adam Hatherley has been out and about in Eastleigh for the Echo and spotted some of the first few Pokemon since the game's official UK launch on Thursday.

He's teamed up with the Hampshire Gaming Hub for a Pokemon Go charity walk in Southampton on Saturday July 30.

Players are invited to stroll through the city looking for creatures whilst profits go to Piam Brown ward at Southampton General Hospital.

Organisers want a donation for every casted 'lure' - a method used to attract Pokemon to a real-world location.

The route will end at a family-friendly bar, with classic Pokemon games - including cards and Gameboy cartridges - available to play.
