HABITUAL thief Paul Moth has finally been jailed after magistrates ran out of patience with him.

Moth, 35, has been sent to prison for three months after admitting three burglaries.

Magistrates told him that all non-custodial sentences have been exhausted and that Moth has a substantial record of dishonesty.

Moth, who has been living at the Nightshelter on Jewry Street, but formerly of Osborne Gardens, Fair Oak, pleaded guilty to stealing £35 from Hotel du Vin on Southgate Street on January 15, a laptop valued at £1,330 from Koh Thai Tapas in Romsey on February 1 and £25 from Alfies on The Broadway on February 13.

He was also ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
