Colden Common Primary School will be raising money on Red Nose Day this year in a fit of laughs and giggles with the production of their very own joke book.
The joke book, which will cost a pound to buy, has been compiled by members of the student council and digital IT leaders, who have repeatedly given up their lunchtimes to work together as a team to create it.
To do this they set up an email, which allowed pupils and parents to send in their jokes alongside their name, which will appear in the final copy.
The head teacher, Mrs Hardy, said she believes the school has a moral responsibility to ensure they make a difference. She said: “It is really about making an effort.
"We didn’t just want to do a free dress day, a joke book involves real time and concentration from the children.
And on top of all this, they are also running a cake sale, where parents and pupils can purchase the treats after school.
All money raised from the profits of the book and cake sale will go to Comic Relief.
