Guests joined former British Olympic Champion, Dame Mary Peters CH DBE RNR, to celebrate the opening of McCarthy and Stone’s Retirement Living development, Folland Court.
The decorated Olympian, who won the pentathlon gold medal at the 1972 Olympic Games, joined retirees and their relatives at the new Retirement Living development on Hamble Lane.
After a guided tour of the beautifully furnished show apartments and communal areas, Dame Mary marked the official opening with a talk on her sporting past, before chatting and meeting homeowners and prospective purchasers.
The event was an opportunity for those interested in finding out more about the lifestyle on offer at Folland Court to see for themselves how they could enjoy their retirement in a quality, low maintenance apartment, designed exclusively for the over 60s.
