YOUNG aspiring footballers from Hampshire have been visited by a former Premier League star.
Wayne Bridge visited Stoneham Park in Eastleigh to surprise players and spectators on the sidelines at Littleton Juniors FC.
The ex-England footballer took a trip back to his youth league and joined the young players on the pitch for a coaching session.
After the final whistle blew, Bridge handed out signed footballs.
He said: “Being a dad of three I know just how important it is to encourage the younger generation to pursue a sporting passion, so I’m grateful to the parents and coaches who put in the time and effort to support their teams every week.
“I spotted some potential stars of the future.”
The surprise was organised in partnership with heating manufacturer Worcester, Bosch Group. Bridge presented a £1,000 cheque to the club, on behalf of the company.
