A DRIVER was taken to hospital after having a laser pen shone in his eyes on a Hampshire road.
The police officer was on Wildern Lane, Hedge End, at about 11pm on Saturday when the incident happened.
He has since been discharged from hospital and his injuries are not thought to be serious or life-changing.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw anyone using a laser pen in the area at this time is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 44170332637.
"We would like to remind members of the public of the dangers of misusing laser pens.
"Shining them into a person’s eyes could cause significant damage, and shining them into moving vehicles could result in a serious collision."
