FIRE crews rushed to a block of flats in West End this morning after reports of a kitchen blaze.
The incident took place at around 9.35am today in a four storey block of flats in Runnymede.
One fire crew from St Marys and two crews from Hightown attended the incident.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said a "small fire" broke out on a cooking hob, inside the kitchen of one of the flats.
But the occupier successfully extinguished the blaze before firefighters arrived at the scene.
Crews used 'tactical ventilation' to clear smoke from the building.
The spokesperson added that no-one was injured in the incident.
