A MAN was rushed to hospital after a fire destroyed the roof of a property in Chandler's Ford.
Firefighters were called to a semi-detached house in Wellbrooke Gardens at around 4pm yesterday, after reports of a fire which destroyed some solar panels on the roof.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service could not confirm if the solar panels caused the fire, but did confirm they were involved in the blaze.
A spokesperson also confirmed the building was evacuated and a 76-year-old man was taken to hospital by ambulance.
His condition is unknown.
Crews from Eastleigh, Redbridge and St Mary's Fire Station battled the blaze and left the scene at 7.29pm.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
