VOLUNTEERS are needed to help run an event in support of people with cancer.
Wessex Cancer Trust is looking for residents happy to help run Walk for Hope, the charity's flagship event on June 10.
The initiative is a ten and twenty-mile sponsored walk set to take place in Burley, in support of people living with cancer across Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and the Isle of Wight.
Rachel Coombs, Wessex Cancer Trust’s event manager, said: “Two hundred and sixty eight cancer survivors, patients and supports have already signed up for Walk for Hope – that’s 168 more than last year. Event volunteers are central to the success of the day, and we’d love to hear from anyone who can help with things like marshalling, registering our walkers and handing out medals and refreshments.”
The event comes just after the volunteers' week which runs from June 1 to 7.
