WORLD class bike stunts, a fun fair and diverse dance acts are just a few of the attractions in a week long programme of events that will be drawing revellers to a Hampshire village.
The historic Hedge End Carnival started almost 90 years ago and still pulls in more than 4,000 to enjoy the fun.
Organiser Nick Wise said: “The carnival is the biggest thing that happens in Hedge End and we all work hard to make sure it goes well and everyone has a good time.
“One of the best things about it is it keeps the old village feeling and this year promises to be just as good.”
He went on to say he was particularly looking forward to the carnival procession and watching two-time British bike champ Zero Gravity wow the crowds.
He hoped Carnival 2009, themed on patriotism, would raise £6,000 for local charities.
The events start today but Saturday’s main event will include bands, Punch and Judy shows and a £300 grand draw as well as the procession and bike stunt display and much more.
