A HAMPSHIRE car park is to be given a million-pound makeover that will beef up security.
Southampton Road multi-storey in Eastleigh is set to get a major refurbishment to breath new life into the run-down, 30-year-old building and add an extra 25 years to its lifespan.
Improvements will include an upgrade of the CCTV system, installation of more energy efficient lights and a fresh lick of paint, complete with colour coding.
The current pay-and-display system will also be replaced by the more popular “pay on foot” system that operates in the Swan centre car park.
CCTV, lighting and painting will improve safety and security for them.”
The work is due to start next month and set to finish next spring.
The car park will remain open throughout the renovations and work will cease over Christmas and New Year to ensure plenty of parking.
