IMPROVEMENTS at a beach front promenade costing more than £200,000 have been finished.
The Saltern’s Promenade in Hill Head has been resurfaced and a new cycleway built. Timber edging has been replaced as some of the wood had become rotten.
Balfour Beatty in partnership with the Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership carried out the £240,000 worth of work. Fareham Borough Council provided £220,000 of funding and Sustrans contributed £20,000.
Cllr Keith Evans, executive member for planning and development, said: “Saltern’s Promenade is a lovely spot and these works will protect it for peoples’ enjoyment into the future.”
