A HAMPSHIRE man walked free from court after he was given suspended sentences at Southampton Crown Court for sex offences.

Michael Tuckey was convicted by a jury at Southampton Crown Court of sexually touching a 16-year-old and sexually assaulting another woman at a party.

The 24-year-old’s family cried in the public gallery as Tuckey was told he would receive a 12-month jail sentence, suspended for two years, for the first offence.

Judge Peter Henry also handed him a four-month prison term, again suspended for two years for the second offence.

Tuckey, from Withy Court, Fareham, was also placed under a 7pm to 6am curfew for six months. He was also ordered to carry out 200 hours’ community service to be completed within 12 months.

He will have to pay court costs of £600 for three months for a nine-day trial, and £100 victim surcharge.

He must also inform police of his places of residence for the next ten years.
