MOST dogs will do anything for a treat – and Harry is no different.

But this three-year-old canine can do far more than just catching balls and fetching sticks.

The super-intelligent pet has gone from a boisterous puppy with a barking problem to a highly trained mutt that entertains his Hampshire family with his latest tricks at Christmas.

Harry’s tricks include working with children’s toys – fitting cups of different sizes into each other and putting money into a money box – and even walking along with a suitcase in his mouth from which he rolls out a blanket and tucks himself inside.

The three-year-old, owned by Christina Farley, can also catch a ball in his paws while in a meerkat position, weave between Christina’s legs, skateboard, collect and deliver the post and even ‘play dead’.

And if that is not enough, Harry is now learning to ‘play’ the piano – pressing up and down on the keys with his paws.

Such is his popularity, Harry has his own Facebook page so that people can contact Christina, a self-employed gardener.

Staff at Canine Communications in Gosport realised straightaway that the Labrador cross patterdale terrier had a natural aptitude after he arrived for dog behavioural lessons.

“He used to bark a lot and he needed to learn a lot of self control and they said he was like that because he was very intelligent,” said Christina, 51, from Stubbington.

“At first I didn’t believe them, but they proved me wrong. He just needed his mind stimulated.”

Harry started learning tricks at eight months old and has never looked back, going on to win My Dog’s Got Talent, a national competition at Paws in the Park in Kent.

He also made it down to the final five of The Crufts Factor, which saw him show off his tricks to crowds at world-famous dog show Crufts earlier this year.
