TWO people were taken to hospital after a car crash on a Hampshire road this morning.

The crash happened on Brunel Way in Park Gate on the junction with Barnes Wallis Road. The accident involved a Red Volkswagen Golf and a red Nissan Almera.

More than 10 firefighters were called to the scene and cut off the roof of one of the cars to rescue a male casualty who was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital.

A spokesman for South Central Ambulance service said that the male who is in his 30s is being treated for a back injury. None of the injuries suffered by those involved are believed to be life threatening.

Police say the incident which happened at 6.39am was cleared by 8.03am.
