THE VOTES are in and Hampshire's favourite Princess Elsa has been crowned.

After a month of searching for the county's young Disney fanatics, Alexis Hall has fought off tough competition to be named the Daily Echo's Frozen Idol winner.

The-six-year old from Swanmore was one of scores of children to enter our hotly contested competition, inspired by the announcement of a sequel for the hit blockbuster.

The good news was revealed to little Alexis, after she won the readers vote to find Hampshire's favourite youngster in fancy dress as Queen Elsa or Princess Anna.

Her mum Kim said: “She is so excited this has probably made her year. She is absolutely obsessed with Frozen.

"She seriously loves it her and whole room is like a shrine to the movie. I think it's amazing how many children are in love with the film, it's incredible how one thing can encompass so many people.

“I always said I would never be that parent that gives into buying all the merchandise but Alexis just loves it so much and it makes her so happy.

"It's just her way of believing in something magical and really it's a great film for her to enjoy because it's full of good little messages and lessons for kids.”

The movie was Disney's highest grossing film of all time when it was released two years ago and became a hit with children for musical numbers like Let It Go and Do You Wanna Build a Snowman.

Alexis, a year 1 pupil at Swanmore Primary, won the vote for her picture with a professional Elsa impersonator at her sixth birthday party.

As previously reported we were offering one lucky frozen fan the chance to win a host of goodies and a personal message from Hampshire's very own Elsa impersonator Jade Armitage, 32 who has been doing the themed party circuit for the past six months.

Kim added: “Alexis is going to be so thrilled to hear from Jade. For her sixth birthday we asked an impersonator to come and it was just amazing for her because she really did feel like a princess and that the fairytale existed which at her age is such a special thing to believe in.

“So I'm sure this will just be the icing on her Frozen cake, thank you so much to the Daily Echo for making my daughter so incredibly happy.”
