A MOTORCYCLIST who died in a crash on a Hampshire road has been named.

Julie Corben, of Hook Lane, Warsash, died as a result of a collision involving her black Harley Davidson and a blue Fiat Doblo on The Avenue, A27, in Fareham.

As previously reported, members of the public including what is thought to be two GPs and two junior doctors,.

They desperately tried to save the 55-year-old's life alongside emergency service workers until paramedics arrived but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said both vehicles were conducting manoeuvres at the set of traffic lights at the junction with Catisfield Road opposite the Oast & Squire pub shortly after 1pm on Monday.

The Fiat driver, a 61-year-old woman from Gosport, was shaken but otherwise uninjured.

Police are appealing for further witnesses to come forward and say they would like to know more about the motorcycle prior to the crash - she was wearing a black jacket.

In particular, officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw the motorcycle in the area prior to the incident.

Sergeant Adrienne Jerram said: “Sadly the motorcyclist, Julie Corben, died as a result of the collision.

“We’ve been able to speak to the Fiat driver and would like to know more about the motorcycle prior to the incident.

“Julie would have been fairly distinctive as she was wearing a black jacket and black crash helmet and riding a black Harley Davidson.”
