  • Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week, August 8-15

Ok, it's not technically Hampshire, but it’s one of the most famous sailing events across the world, but you don’t have to have a boat to enjoy Cowes Week.

The Isle of Wight comes alive as thousands of people attend to see some spectacular races and enjoy the buzz on dry land, with plenty of fun activities on offer.

  • Romeo and Juliet, New Forest Hotel, Ashurst, August 8

Enjoy a pie and a pint as touring theatre company Permanently Bard perform that tale of star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet in the pub garden which is transformed to fair Verona for the night.

  • Portchester Castle: En route to Agincourt, 10am-5pm, August 8

Take a trip back in time to 1415 and watch as King Henry V and his troops are camped at Portchester Castle ahead of their voyage to France and Agincourt as this famous event is brought back to life at the castle.

  • Fareham Arts Festival, August 8-15

A variety of music and theatre takes over Fareham and its surrounding villages including a free family fun day in Locks Heath on Sunday.

  • Dr Longitude's Marvellous Imaginary Menagerie (outdoor theatre), Leigh Park Gardens, Staunton Country Park, Havant, 1.30pm and 3.30pm

Enjoy free outdoor theatre as a strange caravan arrives in Havant complete with a cast of colourful characters including a cow that looks like Brian May.

  • Graham Walker Memorial Run, National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, August 9 10am

Approximately 100 veteran and vintage bikes built before December 31 1930 will be pulling up onto Beaulieu's grounds.

There will also be a prize giving ceremony for the participants.

Discover more about the history of the museum that spans over 800 years. Enjoy a cream while taking in the views of our garden. Tour lasts one hour.

  • Royal Observer Corps exhibition at Bursledon Brickworks, August 9-17

Blue Skies and Black Warnings A visiting exhibition that tells the story of the Royal Observer Corps.

Exhibition open at the same time as the museum and is included as of your museum visit.

Village fete with traditional games, a family pet show, stalls and performances from the Birnie Boozle Band.
