TWO people are being cut out from their cars following a crash on a motorway slip road.

Three people have been injured, two of those seriously, following a collision on the slip road at junction nine of the eastbound M27 carriageway for Whiteley.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 3pm after two cars – a Ford Focus and a Nissan Micra – collided.

Crews from Fareham and Redbridge fire stations are at the scene along with two others from Hightown fire station.

A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said one man was being treated for neck and chest injuries, and a woman for back injuries.

A third person has also been injured but it is not known the extent of their injuries.

One witness at the scene said fire engines and ambulances “swarming all over” the slip road.

The slip road has now re-opened but motorists can expect long delays from junctions seven to 11, with diverted traffic using junction 11.
