A JET-SKI crashed into a garden last night - despite being almost two miles from water.

Laura Clarke was woken by a loud bang outside her home in Titchfield Common.

When she went outside she discovered a jet ski, which had smashed through a road sign and narrowly missed a gas main, before ending up in the garden.

The 28-year-old from Lynn Crescent, said:  “I was in bed with my husband last night when I suddenly heard a loud bang.

“We thought it was a car crash, and didn’t expect to find a jet ski in our front garden.

Daily Echo:

“We were worried that it might of hit them (the gas mains) and what damage that could have caused.”

Mrs Clarke added that a passerby claimed to see a white van taking the jet ski from a house on Hunts Pond Road, before speeding off with it.

The jet ski has now, however, been returned to its owner, who was said to be unaware of its disappearance at the time.

Mrs Clarke's home is just under two miles from Southampton Water.

Police are investigating the incident.
